Daniel O’Donnell Won’t Make a Good Public Advocate
Daniel O’Donnell is running for Public Advocate. While his sister tried to play a part in our elections, Daniel said nothing – zilch – nada.
Here’s what happened: A man named Omar Vaid came from Williamsburg and thought he would run for Bay Ridge’s congressman because he lived here for a year. Vaid pretended he was facing Michael Grimm, when Dan Donovan was the incumbent. Grimm had been to prison, so that made for a good story online.
While Omar Vaid didn’t have much support in the neighborhood. There were no signs, handouts and very little information was in the newspapers. Vaid didn’t even participate in free Q&A booklets. Yet, in the evening, Vaid was getting people on social media to donate to his campaign. Rosie O’Donnell jumped in and donate a few thousand to Vaid’s campaign without knowing anything about our area or if Vaid lived here. Daniel was silent. When the election was over, Vaid was gone and never heard from again.
How can you advocate for the public, when you can’t tell your sister to stay out of a neighborhood’s election?
Hugs,
marlene
