Montgomery Ward Sucks!
Six months ago hackers got into Montgomery Wards records. The records contained my information, as well as 51,000 to 200,000 thousand others. What info besides my credit card numbers? My name, address, security code, etc.
At the end of June, the story broke.
I was contacted last week about it by my credit card (AMEX) and today by Montgomery Ward.
Do not shop at Montgomery Ward online with your credit card as the store doesn’t have the security it should (they do have https and encryption) and they don’t have enough respect to immediately tell their customers.

Montgomery Ward also known as Wards.Com has disconnected their phone lines, and shut down their web sites leaving thousands upon thousands of their customers in the dark. Their parent company “Swiss Colony” refuses to provide any information, other than, “Swiss Colony acquired Montgomery Ward /Wards.Com last Friday and we cannot gain access to Montgomery’s Wards computers. We are taking information from customers; name, phone number, purchase order numbers and advising them that we will call them back. We don’t know when we will call back, maybe days or weeks. We DO NOT have any additional information.” per Ms. Cathy Robertson, Swiss Colony Customer Service Supervisor at 800-544-9036.
