This page used to have a list of things about my life. I made it in 2006 or 2007 when it was popular to have such pages on a blog, so a reader could get to know a blogger.
I removed it in Sept. 2015, when Keith Atherholt asked some members of a facebook group called Bay Ridge Uncensored -BRU to come to this page and make comments about me like 15 year old idiots online.
Some members of BRU know me and sent me text/e-mail with Keith Atherholt’s and others writing on facebook. The whole situation was strange so I posted it here in case someone else encounters the same. This page is no longer linked to my menu.
1) I posted this (word for word) on the Bay Ridge Community Facebook page on Saturday, September 5th because parking is a problem here.
Many people in Bay Ridge liked the message and called the problem in because they also saw it as a problem too. Thirty-four people messaged me about it. Keith Atherholt deleted the post and banned me from the group. I don’t know Keith – never met him or spoke with him. I figured he had me confused with someone, so I asked him why he banned me.
He asked to see my friends list.
I made my page public. I had nothing to hide. After seeing my friends list, Keith Atherholt continued to tell me that I was a troll. I only have old students on my Facebook. They are from various cultural backgrounds. I never heard of anyone asking to see someone’s friends list before they could join a group – it’s Facebook – not the CIA.
2) I wrote to the owner of the FB Bay Ridge Community, Ryan Ennis. After several days he wrote to me.
I thought this was a fake account as well. Because who writes that to someone they don’t know?
Edit: The Bay Ridge Community Facebook page was originally made and moderated by other people. Recently, Ryan Ennis added Keith Atherholt as an admin and they deleted everyone from it (including the original moderators). That’s why things are so strange in this FB group! I know a lot of teens who would do this, but not any adults. Who has the time?
3) Keith used several fake accounts and wrote nonsense to me. But when someone called my house, this nonsense entered my world and life with my amazing family. Five days later he is sending you here. I deleted the page about me and posted this so you know what is going on.
I’ve been contacted by multiple fake accounts (here’s one and proof it is fake – scroll down and you will see the girl’s name under her pic – someone took this poor girl’s picture and is using on a fake profile).
I’ve been contacted by real accounts too. One guy was the brother of someone I knew. He didn’t realize I knew his sister. I wrote to him and he didn’t say another word because he realized he was writing to a real person. The guy was well in his 30’s. I’m not putting his name here out of respect for his sister. Another guy worked with a good friend of mine. Again, he didn’t say a word after I said who I was.
I responded to every person who contacted me because this shouldn’t be happening in Brooklyn or anywhere. I didn’t know which accounts were real and which were fake. Some of men wrote me such flippant things that I copied/pasted the messages to their wives so they could see what they were writing to a stranger. Then I blocked the accounts.

4) Who am I? I am a woman in Bay Ridge who spoke out because Cars2Go is using my neighborhood as a parking lot and that post apparently upset another resident.
Yeah I don’t get it either.
5) This afternoon, I was contacted by this Keith’s buddy. When I asked him what he wanted, he invited me to a restaurant where he works. He didn’t mention his friend or any of this bs. He said he was a reader of my blog. I think the guy has taken a lot of hits in life and doesn’t realize we expect more from him.
In Bay Ridge, I speak out for my neighbors, my students, my family and myself. In the last two years I have lost some key players in my life to cancer. I don’t hold back my words because anyone who is offended isn’t important (especially if you are offended over a parking discussion). I generally speak out against politicians who “play politics” and abuse their position. AND I DIDN’T THINK SPEAKING ABOUT LACK OF PARKING DUE TO Cars2Go WOULD ANNOY ANYONE IN BAY RIDGE. I am not into that type of drama. I really just love this neighborhood and I’d like to be able to park.
As for the BRU community on FB, is it really a community? From what I see it’s just a lot of old guys (and a couple of women). It’s like they missed out on being in a college fraternity and are looking for that experience now. That time is long gone. Most of the people who are writing on the messages on the page no longer live in Bay Ridge.
BRU bans someone when they have an opposing view to Keith. There are always supporters of both sides. Let people speak! Who cares if their view is different from yours? But to ban someone in a Bay Ridge group (not BRU – remember this is a just a neighborhood Bay Ridge messageboard) just because they make a post about parking is ridiculous. Yet, you clicked the link he gave you because you have nothing better to do. I bet there isn’t one of you who would stand up and say “What the hell are you calling her house?” She made a post about parking and he decided to go ballistic over it for whatever reason.
Someone finally asked why was the post was taken down – see Keith Atherholt’s response.
Then there is silence in the forum because people realized what had happened.
Even after I posted this, Keith still asked other people to contact me and they did! (Update – Months later Keith asked people to come to this page again).
Don Clark, a local exterminator thought it was okay to write to me. Why would a man with a business in the community think he had nothing to lose by harassing someone?

Thank you for the messages on FB and to e-mail. Several people wrote and apologized because they let joking around online get out of hand. Cool – sometimes that happens.
But some people were actually just as bad as Keith. This is a week later and they still continued.
Really?! Laura Setikas can’t say a thing to my face but she is troll online. Laura doesn’t live in Bay Ridge anymore. Go get involved in YOUR community, Laura. How about getting a life? You have been doing this for way too long.
When I moved to Bay Ridge, I wrote a message on a Bay Ridge message board and Laura immediately attacked me. I didn’t know her, but Laura Setikas followed me in the forum and responded to every post I made. She researched me online and started to post things I had written. I never had a woman do that. Who has the time or cares to do that to another woman? Go make your life good instead of criticizing other people.
Here’s Ryan Ennis who wants me to send him nude pictures and spends his day reading my whole blog. What man has the time to do this? How long will it take for Ryan to realize that he is following someone who is just into causing trouble for no reason other than he was bored?
The only people who responded to Ryan are Keith and Laura Setikas. There are over 3000 members in the BRU group.
Then this guy below researches me and even tries to call me! Okay that is someone with toooooooooooo much time his hands – can’t you use your time better?
Again Laura Setikas responded – get a life Laura! Laura assumed that I lived there at the time it was posted online many years ago as well. I didn’t.
And this woman Donna Ventri, who lives in Colorado wrote that she called the number twice.
I don’t know this woman, Michelle Lee. She wrote some things about me and then wrote this:
Remember the issue was about Cars2Go and Keith deleting my post/banning me in a Bay Ridge forum. Yet this woman, Michelle Mantle-Gonzalez from Arizona wrote this:
There’s joking around online, but this isn’t it. Some of these people just went too far. When I saw what she posted, I realized some people do this regularly and I needed to post it online because it’s going to happen to someone else in Bay Ridge. It’s so bizarre to receive so many messages and most are from fake accounts.
This woman wrote to my blog and I ignored it.
Then I received what she wrote on BRU:
She wrote about my husband? Really Roxie? Roxie doesn’t live in NY so I am not sure why she is so interested in me. I feel sorry for your husband Roxie. Why does he have to live with such a judgmental person? I don’t know Roxie – never met her. Yet, I do know her father Ralph Herreros WELL. He’s an educator who I met early on in my career – in the early 90’s. Roxie ask your Dad about me – he will tell you who I am! I haven’t seen him in the last couple of years, but the last time I ran into him, he was glad to see me – besides our profession, we shared OLPH.
Keith continued to contact me.
He wrote to my blog – I usually don’t have time to read comments left here, but I wanted to share it here so you can see the mentality.
We are not talking about Zip cars Keith – we are talking about Cars2Go.
Keith Atherholt s — I responded and blocked him. I don’t care what he has to say – he’s nobody to me. But seeking me out on another social networking site is STRANGE.
Why would Keith use so much of his time and get so upset over my complaint about Car2Go in the area? I don’t know any man that would respond this way. I’m talking about parking. Why is Atherholt taking this issue personally? I have no idea and that’s the reason I am posting it here. Maybe he does this regularly – I don’t know. What I do know is that I have never encountered anything like this before so something isn’t right.
Then there’s Keith claim that he can hack. LOL! You would not be reading this site if he could hack.
Keith apparently has time on his hands – I don’t have enough time to do all the things I want to do. Life’s short and it will be over before you know it. It’s not normal to lash out at strangers on the Internet – go deal with your problems or go to the gym and take out your frustrations, but stop being a nuisance.
This acct, Veronica Hamilton has tried to contact me several times. This idiot thinks I did something to Keith.
The fake Veronica Hamilton account contacted me on 9/11 – some of us lost friends on this day. I also don’t appreciate her writing to me under the topic of Chris Hoban.
I don’t who this is. I thought she was Keith’s girlfriend because she continued to message me for so long. Thank you to all in the community who sent me information.
The real sad part is that some of the people in BRU are parents and while they could be doing cool things with their kids, they are wasting time being idiots online. If you have kids and you are reading this while they are sleeping, go make them a photo album online and have it printed so they have some memories of their life or make plans to go somewhere with them. Do something that will amount to something. Don’t waste your time online.
One old, balding man pretended to be my cousin and duped the group. It’s proof anyone can say anything on the Internet. His friend’s list only has 13 people (a few BRU members are his friend). I only have one female cousin who lives in Brooklyn. She is a beautiful person inside and out. Although we aren’t close, she is always glad to see me (and I her). The BRU group mentality is so low that when someone posted a picture of me (yes they are that obsessed), this man said that it wasn’t me and the group went along with him – without questioning. My first grade and fourth grade teachers have run into me on the street and know me (yup I still look the same). We googled this guy’s name + Bay Ridge and found a recent article on Gothamist. Gothamist wrote this man, John was pacing outside of the mosque in Bay Ridge (LOL) and he tried to blame the people at the mosque for supporting a terrorist (Gothamist corrected him – wrong mosque LOL). Wow. My family is Irish and we party with everyone – no one related to me would be pacing outside a mosque (that’s just strange). My grandfathers were both immigrants so no one in my family would speak unkindly to/about another immigrant. The only thing the guy wrote that was true is that I had acne when I was a teen (most teens do, right). A visit to the dermatologist cured that decades ago. Sadly, I don’t have the money or Hampton’s property he spoke about either, but I wish I did!
