Launch Charter High School in Sunset Park
Launch Charter High School will be opening at OLPH Elementary Schools location on 60th Street and 6th Avenue in Sunset Park in September 2027. They signed a 15 year lease for the building. News: https://www.nytimes.com/2026/08/28/nyregion/parochial-school-charter-brooklyn.html
OLPH School closed in 2025 due to low enrollment. The article said that the school had a 36% enrollment decline in five years and that less than 100 students were expected the following year). Tuition was $5500 when the school closed.
This September, Launch Charter School will start at 475 – 53rd Street with just a ninth grade class. Charter schools are free. Apply here: https://launchschools.org/high-school
The school will expand one grade at time. Next year when Launch Charter High School moves to OLPH’s former building, they will have freshman and sophomore classes.
