RIP Zoe Koutsoupakis – An Incredible Woman

Bay Ridge, we lost a great woman. Assemblyman Alec Brook-Krasny shared that Zoe Koutsoupakis was in Greece and she passed away from a medical emergency today.

When we moved to Bay Ridge years ago, Zoe was one of the first people to welcome us. She was a down-to-earth and a kind woman.

Weeks later, I recognized Zoe’s picture in one of the local papers. For years, Zoe Koutsoupakis was in the local newspaper because she was a pillar in this community. She involved in the community through her job as her banker, Holy Cross Greek Church and her other interests. She loved Bay Ridge and she was always helping people.

Zoe and I spoke about community issues regularly. The first time I saw her leadership was when something was happening in Bay Ridge that shouldn’t be happening, she urged everyone to call Marty Golden AND THEY DID because she was very convincing.

About two weeks ago, Zoe and I spoke in depth about something we felt strongly about. She was the same determined woman, who was ready to jump into action for Bay Ridge! Hearing about Zoe’s passing today really stings. We were lucky to have known her.

RIP Zoe – thank you for being a great neighbor. Our condolences to Zoe’s family and friends.

Hugs,
marlene

Zoe worked tirelessly to maintain the Borough Hall celebration honoring Greek Independence Day, as well as distinguished members of each of the four church communities in Brooklyn. Her attention to detail, precision and willfulness made each celebration successful. She was a generous donor to individuals who excelled in their studies. We truly lost a pillar of our community. Rest in peace Zoe. We will miss you.
