This Election Told Us Mark Treyger is a Bad Democrat
Mark Treyger ran all around last year telling Bay Ridge residents how great he was going to be at being a Democrat District Leader.
Mark Treyger is an awful District Leader. Treyger was worse than any Republican could be to the Democratic Party. Internally, he has supported party division. Even after Justin Brannan won the primary, Treyger didn’t have any kind words for him. Why is this man a district leader if he isn’t supporting Democrats? In fact, Treyger is so into himself, he posted about his November campaign.
Treyger and the “Spite Crew” used this election to take aim at a strong Democrat, Justin Brannan. Mark Treyger know that people like Brannan because he is responsive to residents. Instead of backing him up, Treyger ran a candidate from his area against him.
If Mark Treyger didn’t want to support Brannan, he could have got behind Kevin Peter Carroll’s election. Carroll supported Treyger on his run for District Leader and I think many were surprised that Treyger had no loyalty to Carroll. Before last year’s election, Carroll told me that he and Treyger were going to work together as District Leaders. I wasn’t surprised Mark Treyger just looked out for himself.
Treyger’s candidate, Nancy Tong didn’t live in the 43rd District. Tong lives in Mark Treyger’s district. Treyger could have told Tong to seek his seat when he is term-limited, but instead Treyger let Tong waste her resources and reputation on this election.
When Nancy Tong was asked about living outside the district, she arrogantly answered that it was allowed. Yes Nancy it is allowed, but people want to be represented by their neighbor, not Mark Treyger’s neighbor who has no idea what is going on here. Tong hurt her own reputation when she tried to step on the work of Assemblywoman Yuh-Line Niou. Tong didn’t think Niou would find out what she and Colton were doing, but Niou is an intelligent woman and saw them playing politics on her back! The day after the election, Mark Treyger talked about himself on social media.
He didn’t congratulate Justin Brannan or say any kind words to Nancy Tong.
Hopefully, people stop supporting bad Democrats who are only looking out for themselves and playing politics!
