2.5 Years After Dyker Heights Reported Extreme Flooding, Brannan Says They Will Get Help

In September 2022, residents in Dyker Heights told the community about how extreme the flooding was in their basements at a Community Board 10 Meeting (seniors were walking in waist-high water).
Senator Andrew Gounardes and Councilman Brannan promised them help. Seniors in the area explained how fearful they were of rain storms due to the flooding.
One resident returned the following year and spoke about how he and his wife have to spend so much time cleaning up his flooded basement. Community Board 10 never provided an update or mentioned the problem again.
Today, the politician who is running for election in the June primary, announced that money has been put towards the infrastructure project. No timeline provided.

I guess it’s better late than never. We need a new senator and City Council Representative as these two aren’t communicating and taking care of community issues in a timely manner.
Hugs,
marlene
