Senator Andrew Gounardes Thinks People Who Have a Baby Should Get Money
When New York State cut afterschool programs in our community, Andrew Gounardes failed to tell parents and our community. Gounardes is terrible about informing people about important information.
When parents and the CEC rallied for the afterschool programs, Andrew Gounardes didn’t stand with the parents.
A few politicians worked on funding some afterschool programs. But PS 104 did not get funded. That would be fine if it was all wealthy parents, but it isn’t.
Andrew Gounardes said in a video today that he thought people who had a child should receive $1,800.00. (See here)
Families in need of food and rent are able to get help from many different government programs. There is no reason to give out $1800 more. This is part of the “entitled mentality” that exists right now. Offer education or job programs in communities to help new parents.
In NYS, about 208,000 children are born each year. New York State couldn’t fund afterschool at PS 104, but Gounardes thinks NYS has three hundred seventy-four million four hundred thousand dollars for this new program.
Hugs,
