Fourth Rape This Year in the 68th Precinct
On Tuesday, July 9th at 12:00 am, a rape that happened on 14th Avenue and 65th Street was reported to the NYPD. (Crimestats)
This is the second rape in the 68th Precinct in the last 28 days. The last rape was reported to the NYPD on June 24th at 3:00 pm in the area of 85th Street and 3rd Avenue (Rape 1).
A person is guilty of rape in the third degree when one person is less than 17 years old (or the person lacks the ability to consent for some other reason). Rape 3 is a felony.
This is the fourth rape in the 68th Precinct this year, which is less than the number of rapes last year at this time – 6.
