FDNY Lieutenant in Bay Ridge

The FDNY shared this photo and info here.
Lieutenant Jimmy Rimassa has been stationed at Engine 241 in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn, since May. That’s the firehouse on 3rd Avenue and 66th Street.
Lt. Rimassa said the diverse community is a melting pot. “What’s happening in the world is happening right here in Bay Ridge,” he says.
Although he was recently stationed in the area, he knew some of the members after they helped his family deliver their third child. His wife went into labor while traveling on the Gowanus Expressway. “Engine 241 and Ladder 109 were the first units there. I was assigned to Squad 1 at the time and the members were there during an important time in our lives. That really gave me an affinity for Bay Ridge and the main reason I love working here. They were unbelievable the way they treated my family.”
