A few days ago, the Southern Democrats held a New Year’s celebration at The Bay Ridge Manor. They shared pictures of everyone have a good time and dancing on private social media accounts.
While I scrolled through the photos, I saw the head of the Kings Country Republicans, Richie Barsamian, sitting at a table in the photos. I wondered if they invited him or if he went incognito and they didn’t know.

Today, the photo above was shared on X (formerly Twitter) and people were talking about it. So I asked Barsamian about it!
In the Fall, Ted Ghorra quietly stepped down and Richard Barsamian became the GOP Party Leader. Barsamian’s leadership is different from Ghorra’s in that he reached out to Democrats and even invited them to the Republican’s holiday party.
The Democrats invited Barsamian to their party in return.
There’s no drama between Ghorra and Barsamian either because the two were photographed together at the Republican Christmas Party at The Bay Ridge Manor in December.
While this wasn’t a juicy story of a Republican Party Boss sneaking into a Democrat’s event, maybe this was a turning point in politics, where people work together and help build Brooklyn!

Update: Republicans aren’t buying it. This reminded them of “Michael Grimm’s nonsense” from years ago. They did not want to see the Republican Party Boss partying with Progressive Democrats. Republicans told me that they don’t work with radicals – they seek to defeat them in elections.
Hugs,
