All eyes are watching the first Chinese-American NYC Council member for the new Asian District. (See District 43 Map)
Councilwoman Susan Zhuang is showing she’s ready to work!
Zhuang announced a temporary office address at 2015 Stillwell Avenue. This was former Councilman Ari Kagan and Mark Treyger’s office as well.
Susan also introduced her staff:

Our temporary office is officially open! The address is 2015 Stillwell Avenue, Brooklyn, NY, 11223. Service is provided in English 7183077151, Chinese 9295020491, and Spanish 9295020589. Just 2 days, we contacted from Sanitation about the issues on… pic.twitter.com/7TMFIjVe8T
Last January, we saw Senator Iwen Chu shared a staff picture, but failed to set up her office right away. Senator Chu had her staff working at the library a few hours a week. Senator Chu used Peter Abbate’s office, so she should have been able to setup right away.
Councilwoman Zhuang joined the Common Sense Caucus. This group has a lot of Republicans and a few Democrats. Zhuang’s name was already added to their page. (See here)
Introducing the Common Sense Caucus for 2024!

Thrilled to welcome two new members: @KristyforNY and @susanzhuangnyc.
We're committed to practical solutions and a brighter future for New York City! pic.twitter.com/VKuMuCVSIZ
Councilwoman Zhuang knows she represents a community that wants to feel safe. Zhuang is showing she won’t be a puppet to her party, but she remains close to the local Democrat group, The Southern Brooklyn Democrats. (See here)
Senator Iwen Chu didn’t tell her community that she voted for the Clean Slate legislation. (See here)
The Clean Slate Legislation will not help NYC unfortunately.
Hopefully, someone will be challenging Iwen Chu at the next election.
Good luck to Councilwoman Zhuang! Hopefully, she can help her community and make some positive changes in Brooklyn.
Hugs,
marlene
