Microburst – Storm in Brooklyn – 20th Avenue

While most people in Brooklyn saw a heavy rain storm, Bay Ridge Avenue between 19th and 20th Avenues had high winds, like a tornado. 73rd Street between 19th and 20th also was hit bad. The news is referring to this as microbursts.

So many trees are down – it looks like a mini tornado went through the area.
The FDNY were cutting the trees to get them off the street.
Councilman Ari Kagan immediately shared that there were no injuries or evaculations needed.
I was notified by @nycoem, @NYCCouncil & @NYCParks about multiple trees & wires down at 1949 Bay Ridge Parkway c/s 20 Avenue. @FDNY is on the scene at the above location cleaning up multiple trees & down wires. No injuries reported & no evacuations needed. TY to first responders!
