A 6-Year-Old Was Hurt by a Hit-and-Run Scooter Driver in a Manhattan Park – Prayers Needed

Henry Diaz-Marim was seriously hurt with skull fractures on Sunday at Thomas Jefferson Park on East 111th Street and 1st Avenue in East Harlem (near the FDR Drive) around 6:30 pm. (Story)
Henry Diaz-Marim is at the hospital in critical condition.
A man on a gas powered scooter hit Henry and took off. Electric scooters are allowed in the park – not gas. (See here) These vehicles need plates so riders stop and are accountable.

These motorized bikes should not be allowed in parks. The ban was lifted by the mayor in March. (See here)
Pedestrian safety and a pedestrian’s right of way, especially a child’s has to come before all of these motorized scooters.
