The Leaning Tree of 93rd Street

Jerry shared the picture of the tree on 93rd Street.
This tree survived a lot of bad storms including: Irene, Sandy, the Christmas storm of 2020 and Ida.
When the huge blue spruce in our yard started to lean and we heard a creaking noise when the wind blew, we replaced it because we didn’t want it to come down on someone or a car.
The apartment owner can’t take down this tree because it is NYC’s tree. Do you know that people aren’t supposed to even trim the trees on NYC streets?
Why doesn’t NYC replace trees like this with a small type of tree?
.
