Bay Ridge District Leader, Christopher McCreight was named in an article about the strange way that Supreme Court judges are chosen in Brooklyn. (See here)
Eighteen people explored a run for Supreme Court this year in Brooklyn. (Source) This is a coveted position because the judge’s salary is $210,000 annually.
District Leaders met and it was narrowed down to twelve people. (See here) The City Publication claimed that the choices were already predetermined at an earlier meeting. (See here) Anyone who reads that article will understand how corruption can happen easily with the existing process used to choose judges.
A Democrat from Sunset Park stood up and called for a roll call vote. (Go Katie Walsh!) They turned off her microphone.
Frank Seddio, who is now a District Leader (LOL), got into a heated argument that was recorded and shared widely on social media. (Story here)
Interestingly the article states that, Bay Ridge Female District Leader, Joanne Seminara has not taken any money from people seeking judge positions (or from their family members). (Source) Neither Seminara or the male district leader counterpart, Mark Hanna have not spoken out on social media.
We also haven’t heard from any politicians in our area: Andrew Gounardes, Justin Brannan and Max Rose on this issue.
