93rd Street Residents Told CB 10 About the Problems Happening at The Bay Ridge Hotel

Tonight, at the Community Board 10 meeting, parents spoke about the problem they had with The Bay Ridge Hotel and the unruly transient guests. These parents tried dealing with the two managers of the hotel, but they were unhelpful.
The hotel guests are leaving drug paraphernalia on 93rd Street and fighting outside the hotel repeatedly. This is supposed to be a hotel with guests that stay for a short time, but the guests are staying a long time and being unruly, arguing and throwing bottles at each other. Other residents have called the police in the middle of the night about these guests.
Josephine, the manager of CB 10 referred to this as transient hotel use.
The Bay Ridge parents reported the issue to 311 and 911. This couple said the 68th Precinct was excellent at responding to their calls, but the problem continued days later over and over (they have been dealing with this since late 2024, but it has been terrible since last Summer).
The parents said at tonight’s CB 10 meeting that they asked Justin Brannan for help when he was Councilman, but he didn’t take care of the problem. They also contacted the current NYC Council representative, Kayla Santosuosso. Santosuosso has not respond to these Ridgites (while she has only been in office for a short time, we shouldn’t see her ignoring resident’s issues).
The Prince Hotel is gone, but 93rd Street residents can’t get peace.
We were all rooting for the new owner. We are disappointed that he hasn’t had these unruly people removed to keep the peace with his neighbors. Many families live on that block (or walk on that block to get to go to the Pre-K at 369 – 93rd Street).
Hugs,
marlene
