Judge Rules NY 11’s District is Unconstitutional – May Move Bay Ridge & Dyker Heights Into NY 10
Current NY 11 District
NY 11 is the Congressional district that included Bay Ridge, Dyker Heights and Staten Island. Nicole Malliotakis is the Congresswoman who represents NY 11.
Since Democrats can’t win against her (remember Justin Brannan was considering a run against Malliotakis, but shied away). Info:
The judge ruled that the district lines are unconstitutional and must be redrawn because it dilutes the votes of black and Hispanic voters. If that’s the case, why not take the voters from Sunset Park?
Governor Kathy Hochul signed off on these maps. If they were not alright, Hochul would not have approved them for the state. See video:

The suggested map for NY 11 is below and includes Staten Island and a portion of Manhattan. The purple areas would be NY 11 and exclude Bay Ridge and Dyker Heights (putting them into in District 10).
Currently, Dan Goldman is the Congressman representing District 10. Goldman has been terrible to the residents in Redhook. Eric Adams put Goldman and Gounardes as heads of the Brooklyn Marine Terminal Project. Both men have been terrible about hearing the community.
Nicole Malliotakis won both her Congressional elections with the traditional 60% 30% split.

Brad Lander has supported corruption in Bay Ridge. When the news reported what happened on the 86th Street property that used to be Nathan’s, Brad Lander still endorsed Brannan. We then had a second school fiasco that hasn’t been built because the property requires a $21 million dollar Brownfield Cleanup. Info:
Brad Lander still supported Andrew Gounardes after Andrew Gounardes failed to share information about the homeless shelter on 4th Avenue in Bay Ridge. Gounardes received a letter from NYC and never provided any information.
