A serious two-alarm fire happened at 7408 6th Avenue in Bay Ridge right before noon today. The fire started in the basement and went to the roof of the two-family home.
News 12 shared: “The FDNY said the fire started just before 11:45 a.m., and it took more than 100 first responders a little over an hour to get it under control.”
Thankfully, the residents were not home. Their dog was home, but Channel 12 says the dog got out safely – Thank God!
The interior of the house was destroyed by the fire. The Red Cross said five people were displaced.
The owner of the house owned it for over 30 years. His wife recently passed away.
While the news shared that there were no injuries, Councilwoman Kayla Santosuosso shared that there were five minor injuries. (Maybe she misunderstood – Five people were displaced).

Hugs,
marlene
