Things for Parents and Kids to Do On New Year’s Eve in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn

There are plenty of New Years parties for adults, but what can you do if you are a parent with children in Bay Ridge or nearby in Brooklyn?

If your kids are young, you can celebrate early. If your children are older and can stay up to 12:00 am, scroll for ideas below.

New Year’s Eve With Small Children in Brooklyn:

1) Threes Brewing at 333 Douglass Street is having a family friendly NYE Party From 1:00 – 5:00 pm. This is a free celebration with DJ and with a balloon drop and cider toast for kids. Reserve a spot:

2) Good Day Play Cafe at 591- 5th Avenue in Park Slope. Ring in the new year with a ball drop at 12:00 pm. $45 per child. Juice boxes for the kids, Pizza for the kids, Sweet treats for everyone, Open play and lots of balloons!

3) Prospect Park has these free children’s events on December 31st – although not New Years Eve related, they will allow you and your children time outdoors and have fun.

4) Randolph Beer’s NYE Ease at 82 Prospect Street in Dumbo welcomes children for New Years Eve from 12:00 – 8:00 pm. They have classic arcade games, pinball, skeetball and a picture booth. Those are free. You pay for food and drink.

5) Dave and Busters at 625 Atlantic Avenue and the Gateway location are having a special NYE day. (See here)

6) Chuck E. Cheese at 139 Flatbush Avenue is a fun place (they don’t have anything special for NYE). See coupons on their site:

7) Long Island Children’s Museum New Years Countdown from 11:00 – 4:00 pm https://shorturl.at/jGIyy

8) Karaoke from 5 – 8 pm at Vineapple Cafe in Brooklyn Heights. Ball drop at 8:00 pm. Free to attend. Food you pay for. (Reserve here)

9) Dave and Busters at 625 Atlantic Avenue in Downtown Brooklyn has a children’s NYE Party each year.

10) Brooklyn Bowl in Williamsburg – Doors open at 11:00 am / Show starts at 12:00 pm. Family concert with Rock & Roll Playhouse music (Taylor Swift themed).• $22.00 per ticket; children under 1 are free. Get tickets:

Families with Older Children that can stay up until midnight:

  • Central Park’s New Years Eve Run (no fireworks or drones, but the run is still on)
  • Go on a Walking Tour over the Brooklyn Bridge (Sign up here) $50 Adults/$25 Kids (Or walk over the bridge yourself for free)
  • New Year’s Eve Bike Ride  – The annual New Year’s Eve Bike Ride! Start the year off right- on your bike or skates! Three meet-up locations: 9:45pm at the Brooklyn-side entrance to the Williamsburg Bridge; 10:00pm at Washington Square Park Arch, Manhattan; 10:20pm at Madison Square Park, 23rd & Broadway, Flatiron side. We’ll be riding up to Belvedere Castle, where we will have our after-party, in the middle of Central Park for the best (and free)! New Year’s Eve dance party in town, with fireworks!
