Avoid Parking on Shore Rd From 88th St to The Gazebo – Lights Out – Thieves with Flashlights
A nice Bay Ridge resident gave the community a warning about parking on Shore Road, while many street lights are out. Last night, a car was vandalized around 2:00 am o, Shore Road.
The resident noted that multiple street lights are out on Shore Road from 88th Street to the gazebo (possibly due to the sewer line work that has been going on for several weeks).
Last night, the Bay Ridge resident saw someone with a flashlight trying to get into cars, while it was pitch black out. The resident called 911 to report the theives. They also reported the street light outages to 311.
Today, a detective from the 68th Precinct called the nice person who reported the thief. The detective told her that the guy smashed out the car windows and ripped apart the inside of the car. The police notified the owner. We are sorry that someone had to get this news about their car.
They gave the community a heads up: If you park your car on Shore Road between 88th St and the Gazeb,o be aware that all the lights are out and the vandals and theives are taking full advantage.
