Tonight the City Council Candidates Debated on Channel 1 News

I’ll be back tomorrow to write more about the debate that was on Channel 1 tonight.

Many people in Bay Ridge do not have Spectrum and couldn’t see the debate (it will be on their website). Why isn’t there a debate in our community? We are having an election for someone to represent the community for FOUR years – there should be at two debates here!

Something that is important that won’t come out in a debate is what we have seen with Justin Brannan and Andrew Gounardes being friends —> Both failed to share important information with the community, like the homeless shelter. Both men received letters from NYC and they decided to keep the news from us.

We also saw Andrew Gounardes in a SuperPAC with the casino in Coney Island. We shouldn’t see a state politician participating in a NYC election in our community.

When Vinny Gentile and Marty Golden were in office, both shared information with the community fast because they wanted to be the first to tell us. Also, we had a lot more community events because each office did their own events (remember the amazing Halloween celebration they had?)

Many people on Community Board 10 were chosen by Councilman Brannan. When the homeless shelter was announced at a CB 10 meeting, not one CB 10 member asked any questions. None were surprised, so most likely they knew the information before the meeting. If my neighbors knew, my phone would be blowing up or they would be ringing my bell to tell. Why were that many CB 10 members silent?

The same with the City of Yes – Justin Brannan carved his home out of the City of Yes and then voted for it. Not one CB 10 member objected. Why were they silent? Info:
