Nicole Malliotakis Won the Final Round in Court – Non-Citizens Can Not Vote

Nicole Malliotakis won for NYC. She said she would and she did!

In 2021, Justin Brannan and other NYC Council sponsored a bill to give non-citizens the right to vote in NYC elections. Since Mayor Adams didn’t veto it, it became law in 2022.

Brannan and NYC Council believed that permanent residents and green card holders should be able to vote because they pay taxes. This bill would have allowed 800,000 people in NYC to vote.
This bill was introduced before the Migrant Crisis happened. Can you imagine how our government would be changed by non-citizens voting now?
Congresswoman Nicole Malliotakis and other politicians brought the bill to court. The final court (The Court of Appeals) has ruled in a 6-1 decision that non-citizens can not vote in elections because it is unconstitutional. See news:
