No Bay Ridge Businesses Are In the NYS Historic Business Preservation Registry

Many businesses in Bay Ridge have been operating for over a half a century.
In 2023 McGuire Realty celebrated 50 years in Bay Ridge.
Mike’s Donuts and The Indoor Outdoor Gardener on 5th Avenue have also celebrate 50 years of serving this community. See here:
I’m sure you can think of other businesses like The Bay Ridge Bakery and Mid-East Bakery who must be here around five decades.
Strangely, these businesses didn’t receive an induction invitation from Senator Andrew Gounardes to the New York State Historic Business Preservation Registry.
Sadly, the map looks like there is nothing historic in our area:

Instead Gounardes, recognized Tripoli Rest Restaurant at 156 Atlantic Avenue.

Businesses in this registry get a listing and a link to their site, which would bring history lovers to the area. Here’s what Tripoli Rest’s looks like:

Andrew Gounardes grew up in Bay Ridge? Why wouldn’t he help businesses in his own community? #PlayingPolitics as usual. By now, Gounardes should have added many businesses in this community to the registry.
Each elected official is allowed may nominate up to ten businesses (per term).
While other NYS Senators have been adding businesses for the last three years, Andrew Gounardes didn’t bother. :

Businesses can ask any elected state official, including the Governor, Lieutenant Governor, and members of the Senate or Assembly to nominate them. Call Assemblyman Tannousis’ office at 7716 3rd Ave. 718-439-8090 or Assemblyman Alex Brook-Krasny’s 718-266-0267. They will help and they won’t play games.
