MLK March Announced on January 18th for January 19th in Bay Ridge – Is It Really for MLK?

If they are having a march for Martin Luther King Day, why wouldn’t they advertise it a few weeks ago?
The sign up form is from the Democratic Socialists of America.
The sign-up form doesn’t even mention the Arab American Association, Cair or Mixteca.
The address is 74th Street and 4th Avenue – no location. (See street view)
Senator Gounardes and Councilman Brannan didn’t mention it (or any of the Martin Luther King events on social media – see here)
This looks like an event to take a photo for some Socialists candidates for the upcoming election season. Let’s see what comes from it!
Martin Luther King Jr. Day doesn’t get the respect or events deserved in South Brooklyn. NYS says take action, but there are only a few service opportunities for children and teens on January 20th.
Many not-for-profits receive money, but none of them are interested in holding a real MLK event for some reason. The children are off from school and it’s an easy day to get people together.
