Martin Luther King Day in Bay Ridge 2025
Event planned for Martin Luther King Jr. Day in Bay Ridge:
1) The Peace Action Bay Ridge group is having a Martin Luther King Jr. Vigil on January 20th from 2:00 – 3:00 pm on 86th Street and 4th Avenue (the corner with the subway elevator).
Outside of Bay Ridge events:
1) Volunteer to help with tree care in Sunset Park (Sign up here) See more parks with volunteer events on MLK Day (here)
2) High School and college students can volunteer at 7802 Bay Parkway for Marks JCH’s event.
3) Volunteer (Sign up here) at Kings Bay Y Martin Luther King Event on January 20th from 8:00 am – 1:00 pm.
4) The Brooklyn Children’s Museum has a Martin Luther King Jr. Program on Sunday, January 19th and Monday, January 20th. *(Info here) Tickets: $15
5) MLK Day Walk/Run, Collective Unity at 50 Court Street from 9:00 am – 11:00 am. Followed by a Collective Celebration from 12:00 – 4:00 pm at Restoration Plaza at 1368 Fulton Street in Brooklyn.
Celebrate Martin Luther King Junior’s legacy at this unity event! Whether you prefer walking or running, it’s a great way to come together and make a positive impact. We will go across the Brooklyn Bridge and back. Dress warmly (More info)
6) Brooklyn Academy of Music’s Annual Event for Martin Luther King Jr.
Tickets are free for this event and will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis beginning at 8:00 am on January 20th in the BAM Howard Gilman Opera House lobby. (Info here)
7) The Senesh School in Carroll Gardens is having an event (Info and sign up here)
8) St. Thomas Aquinas Church at 1550 Hendrickson Street is having a service at 12:00 pm.
9) There is a Martin Luther King Walk starting at Harriet Tubman Blvd. (and Fulton Street) at 1:00 pm.
