1) New Years Festival at Seth Low – IS 96’s Auditorium at 99 Avenue P at 3:00 pm.

2) Need new friends? NYC Asians are having a meetup at 6:45 to 8:45 pm at Park Asia Restaurant at 6521 – 8th Avenue (RSVP here)

1) Red Bowl Restaurant at 8518 – 3rd is Celebrating the Year of the Snake at 2:00 pm. Make a reservation for lunch and see the lion dance performed by the Brooklyn Lion’s Club 718-307-2828.

2) Lunar New Year Event at the Brooklyn Museum. You have to pay the museum entrance free, but there is free art-making activities, a performance and a museum-wide bingo game. (Reserve a spot here)

2:45pm – 3:15pm Dancing of the Lion Performance

3) Lunar New Year Event at Ikea at 1 Beard Street in Redhook, Brooklyn 10:00 am – 1:00 pm. Free. (Register here) The first 200 families will receive a red envelope special. Photo station and scavenger hunt. Good treats!

1) Brooklyn Children’s Museum Lunar New Year Celebration from 10:00 am – 5:00 pm. (Tickets $15 each here) There will be live music, dance, kung fu and calligraphy workshops, as well as lion dance parades. **Families with special needs NYC Council Representative Susan Zhuang has free family passes. 2) Lunar New Year Calligraphy at Dyker Library at 8202 – 13th Avenue. Free. Class from 12:00 – 1:00 pm (Info) And 1:00 – 2:00 pm. (Info)

3) Lunar New Year Celebration at City Point at 445 Albee Square West. Looks nice for small children (see pics here)

4) Brooklyn Conservatory of Music Lunar New Year Celebration at 58 – 7th Avenue from 2:00 – 4:00 pm. $15.00 – $25.00 (Register here) Enjoy live music, festive snacks, lion dancers, crafts, mini lessons from the Chinese Music Ensemble of New York, and more.

5) The Museum of Chinese America is having a Lunar New Year Family Festival at 215 Centre Street in Manhattan from 10:00 am – 1:00 pm OR 2:00 – 5:00 pm. $7.18 a ticket (Get tickets)

1) On February 9th from 12:00 – 4:00 pm, The Brooklyn School of Inquiry will have a Lunar New Year Festival at 50 Avenue P in Brooklyn. Adults are free. $10 per child. Lion dance, arts, games and cultural activities.

Wednesday, February 12, 2025

1) On February 12th at 4:00 pm, Il Centro at 8711 – 18th Avenue will have a Lunar New Year Celebration. Only 100 people can attend. ***THE BIGGEST EVENT*** The Lunar New Year Parade in Manhattan’s Chinatown at 1:00 pm – 3:00 pm. (Info here)

The parade route starts at Mott & Canal to Chatham Square to East Broadway towards the Manhattan Bridge, ending at Eldridge and Forsyth Streets near Grand Street near Sara D. Roosevelt Park, in Manhattan.
