Coney Island Does Not Have New Year’s Eve Fireworks on December 31st
Coney Island is not having fireworks for New Year’s Eve AGAIN this year.
There are fireworks at Liberty Island which can be seen from parts of Brooklyn. (See here)
Coney Island has not had a fireworks NYE celebration for several years.
Why didn’t Councilman Brannan set up the New Year’s Celebration for Brooklyn?
Councilman Brannan shared that NYC had money.
Then Brannan said that NYC had to use the money against Trump. (See here) He also had a hand-painted sign made for his new office on Mermaid Avenue that took ONE YEAR to set up. (See here)
During the drought in NYC this Fall, NYC changed the fireworks show at Prospect Park to a drone show to avoid park fires. This would have been the perfect time to set up fireworks for Coney Island, but Councilman Brannan didn’t take action.
The celebration and drone show at Grand Army Plaza is from 10:00 pm – 12:00 am on December 31st. It’s free, but they have a RSVP page (here).
Hugs,
marlene
