Bay Ridge Vote Against Chris McCreight! CLOSE ELECTION! McCreight Took Money From…
1) Chris McCreight didn’t tell us that he accepted $3000.00 from the Hotel Pac: New York Hotel & Motel Trades Council Committee. Why is the hotels pac interested in a Bay Ridge/Coney Island politician?
Homeless shelters in Brooklyn have been set up as hotels. In 2022, Iwen Chu brought hotel workers to campaign for her. (See here) Iwen Chu accepted money from the same Hotel Pac. (See here)
2) Why didn’t Chris McCreight tell Bay Ridge that he accepted $500 from Domenic Recchia?
Recchia was in the Lobbyist Database – he lobbied Brannan over rezoning of 2300 Cropsey Avenue (See the building here)
3) Chris McCreight’s flyers don’t say he supports Charter Schools. Yet, Politico wrote that McCreight accepted $68,000 from these groups representing Charter Schools.
“The PAC for charter schools, Democrats for Education Reform spent $43,000 on Chris McCreight. McCreight has also seen $25,000 spent on a mailer from New Yorkers for a Balanced Albany, another charter school PAC. (Source)
4) The Democratic Assembly gave Christopher McCreight $78,000.00.
5) Peter Abbate is pushing Chris McCreight:
Chris McCreight Made a lot of $1.00 donations to himself:
Brad Lander is pushing McCreight. Lander is a self-proclaimed Democratic Socialist (See here)
Lander sent out this letter:
With this election, we received many phone calls from Chris McCreight’s team. We told them we weren’t interested in corruption. This weekend, I realized these people aren’t from Bay Ridge or Coney Island – they don’t care about our community. One guy said McCreight’s name as -> McCrite over and over as he read the script he was given.
The next woman that called us didn’t know about the Nathan’s school deal and that Chris McCreight was silent. (Info here)
Chris McCreight’s flyers don’t tell us what he did before he was in politics. McCreight worked as a project manager for Trump Village West (See here)
NYC Campaign finance shows this information:
Years ago, Chris McCreight and I talked on Twitter because we were both against corruption in Bay Ridge.
Then Chris McCreight took a job with Justin Brannan and he went silent.
In 2018, Chris McCreight fooled me. McCreight was running for the Bay Ridge/Coney Island NY Assembly seat. In a backroom deal, McCreight got pushed out and quietly exited the election. (Info here) That’s when McCreight showed us that he wasn’t a leader, but a weak link of the Democrat political machine.
McCreight ran for District Leader after Mark Tregyer let go of the position. Chris McCreight has been a terrible Democrat District Leader.
1) The new Asian District was formed in Brooklyn to give the community a voice. As a District Leader, Chris McCreight is supposed to push Democrats in the area. Instead McCreight pushed his friend, WaiYee Chan.
Years ago, Chris McCreight called out carpetbaggers, so why did he push Wei-Yee Chan on the new Asian District?
The people knew WaiYee was not a Brooklynite. She lost by a lot. When Susan won, Chris McCreight did not help or campaign for Susan, even though she was the Democrats candidate. Bad Democrat!
2) In 2023, Chris McCreight didn’t welcome a challenger to Justin Brannan’s election for NYC Council. A man from Coney Island registered to run against Brannan. He received no support from McCreight. (See here) The man quietly withdrew from the election and political people said he was probably offered a position or a not-for-profit.
3) In 2021, Chris McCreight backed Steve Saperstein.
Steve Saperstein ran as a Republican in 2017 and 2018. (See here) Bay Ridge residents remember the 2018 election debate with Mathylde Frontus. Steve Saperstein admitted to taking money from a developer. (See here) After that, Saperstein became a Democrat and ran for City Council. He lost badly to Inna Vernikov in the NYC Council election for District 48.
1) At the City of Yes Meeting held at St. Anselm, Chris McCreight and Andrew Gounardes attended, but did not speak. They could have shared positive points about The City of Yes, but both men were too timid. They do not represent our community. (See great Ridgites speaking out in this video)
Chris McCreight failed to speak up when 1000 trees were removed from the East River Park. Strangely, the NYLCV endorsed McCreight. They wrote this. Obviously, they don’t know what is going on in NYC.
When Justin Brannan was head of the NYC Council Waterfronts and Resiliency committee, several environmental activists went to his office to speak to him about saving 1000 trees at the East River Park. Chris McCreight didn’t assist the activists or say or do anything to defend the environment – he was silent. Brannan’s staffer was not helpful or kind. (See video) I asked the protesters if Chris helped them and they said no.
1) When a man set up a puppy mill on Bergen Street in Bay Ridge, the residents on Bergen Street contacted Andrew Gounardes, Justin Brannan and the police. The politicians and police did not help the dogs! (See news)
The Bergen Street residents rallied and called the news to get help for the dogs. (See: here) McCreight was Brannan’s chief-of-staff and he did not attend the rally. After the rally, Ravon Service moved out of the area. The following year, Ravon Service was back in the newspapers for doing the same thing. This time he was charged. (See here)
2) When Justin Brannan was the head of NYC Contracts, a 34-year contract was made with Animal Care and Control. (Info) ACC kills dogs and cats each week who don’t get adopted fast enough. Animal Activists asked Andrew Gounardes to co-sponsor SARA, but he refused. Chris McCreight never spoke up for animals.
1) Last November, Community Board 10 said one sentence about the homeless shelter coming to 4th Avenue. Justin Brannan didn’t share information about the shelter because he was running for office. After the election, Brannan said he would bring in a speaker to talk about the shelter. Justin Brannan lied. Bay Ridge residents protested outside Brannan’s office because they had no information. Chris McCreight could have given them information. Instead, McCreight as the Chief of Staff watched his coworker go outside and take photos. Soon after that Brannan posted the protesters photos on social media and tried to shame them.
1) When rainbow flags were torn down in Bay Ridge, Chris McCreight didn’t put any up or restore what was taken. (News) This month, when the rainbow bench was graffitied (x2), Chris McCreight was silent. He failed to take action for the community (put a camera on the site, set up a watch on Shore Road, etc.)
1) The School at Nathans: An unregistered lobbyist made money on the Nathan’s school and the school coming to 5th Avenue. (This one) Chris McCreight was silent as as a mouse (Info here)
Bay Ridge, Haven’t we had enough? Chris McCreight has been silent for years! Why would we promote someone who has shown he can’t speak out for himself or the community?
PLEASE VOTE AGAINST CHRIS MCCREIGHT!
Hugs,
marlene
