In Brooklyn: Get Rid of TV’s, Batteries, Electronics, Paint, Oil, Tires, Vape Pens, Light Bulbs & CFLs
Brooklynites can bring their old electronics, paint, etc. to 459 North Henry Street in Greenpoint every Saturday from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm(closed legal holidays and during severe weather). (More info)
This center is also open on the last Friday of every month from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm.
The following items are accepted at DSNY Drop-Off Site:
- Batteries, including automotive, rechargeable (such as small sealed lead acid batteries, Li-Ion, Ni-MH, Ni-ZN, Ni-Cd) and single-use (such as alkaline and lithium).
- Motor oil and transmission fluid (up to 10 quarts per visit)
- Motor oil filters (up to two filters per visit)
- Fluorescent light bulbs & CFLs
- Paint (up to five gallons per visit)
- Mercury-containing devices (up to two per visit)
- Car tires (up to four per visit)
- Electronics (covered by theĀ NYS disposal ban)
- E-cigarettes/vape pens (EPA classified these as hazardous waste)
