Four Alarm Fire on 71st Street and 20th Avenue….Seven Firefighters Brought to Hospital
There was a serious fire at 2052 – 71st Street between 20th and 21st Avenues in Bensonhurst. The fire started on the first floor around 1:00 pm and quickly spread to the second floor. It took a long time for the firefighters to get it under control.

The fire spread to 250 – 71st Street. Two dogs lived at this home. The firefighters got one dog out, the owner has to get the other dog. (See video here) Thank God they are okay!
Assemblyman Lester Chang said that four buildings were affected by this fire!
By 3:00 pm, the firefighters had the fire under control. Many people shared videos (here).
There were a lot of helicopters in the areas. And residents on the next block saw the heavy smoke on their block.
Seven firefighters were brought to the hospital with minor injuries. One resident had minor injuries. (Source)
Thankfully, the residents of these homes were not hurt. Assemblyman Lester Chang said that the Red Cross helped some of the families. And both houses will have to gut and rebuild. *Prayers for these families.*
