Is a Trader Joe’s Coming to Bay Ridge?
My friends at Trader Joes told me that at the recent regional meeting it was announced that the next Trader Joe’s will be opening in Harlem.
Trader Joes is looking to expand East in Brooklyn, but they didn’t announce anything for South Brooklyn. Announcements will be shared on their page (here).
Years ago, Trader Joe’s HAD plans to move into Bay Ridge. They were going to move into the lot on 86th Street with a parking lot, but Justin Brannan stopped that. (Info here) A school was placed in the business district instead.
Last July, the former Century store location on 86th Street between 4th and 5th looked promising, but construction hasn’t even started there. (See here)
