Hope Count NYC – 2024

Every year, NYC pretends it does not know how many people are homeless, so they count the homeless one night every January. Spectrum News said they will not have the results of this count until this Summer.

In 2022, the Hope Count showed there were about 4,000 people that were homeless and not being housed anywhere in NYC.

Yet, Catholic Charities shared this month that there are 92, 824 homeless people in NYC. Many are being housed in non-permanent shelters.

NYC asked people to volunteer “to count” the homeless. The volunteers don’t bring the people food or a hot coffee, they are just there to count them.

The worst part, they design t-shirts and other gear (jackets and coats) with the logo for the Hope Count.

There is a new woman in charge of the event and she told people on Channel 1 News that they will get a free t-shirt. There was also the Hope Count string bag:

Oh and the Hope beanie:

This office considers this even to be like a concert, where participants get free merch.

Don’t worry NYC didn’t go cheap on these – double-sided printing!

Every year, this count happens, but no one does anything about the people living on the R Train.

Senator Gounardes and Councilman Brannan refuse to help these people, even though their situation has become a lot worse.

We need new leadership – people who care enough to help those who aren’t well.

Look at how old this tweet is about the Hope Count. Doing the same thing over and over each year isn’t helping the homeless in NYC.

Hugs,
marlene
