MESA Charter High School Wants to Know If Parents Are Interested in It Opening Here

MESA charter high school is looking to open another location in the Fall of 2025. They want to know if there is an interest in South Brooklyn. If you are interested, take this survey.
Info on the school’s current location is Bushwick:
MESA Charter High School opened its doors on August 19, 2013, and for the past ten years has been, as the New York Post put it, “just might be the best charter high school in the state.” MESA’s admissions is by lottery, and 84% of its students live in the surrounding neighborhood. In a community where the graduation rate has hovered around 70%, MESA has graduated 94% of its students on time. Graduates matriculate to top SUNY and CUNY schools as well as elite private colleges such as Brown, Cornell, Syracuse, NYU, Boston College, and Boston University.
Some key features of MESA’s model are:
– Small school (500 students total, 125 per grade) and advisory model that create a “family-like” atmosphere.
– Successful track record of staff retention–MESA has averaged 77% year-to-year staff retention over its lifetime and 83% over the past five years.
– Ten AP courses including AP Biology, AP Calculus, AP Language, AP Literature, AP US History, and AP Government
– Partnership with St. Francis College allowing students to take college-level classes for credit on campus during the school day.
– 3 dedicated college/career counselors for a senior class of 125, a ratio similar to that found at elite private schools.
