Martin Luther King Day – Things to Do in Brooklyn – January 17, 2022
1) The Bay Ridge Peace Action Group is having a vigil on 86th Street and 4th Avenue in Brooklyn at 2:00 pm – ALL ARE WELCOME!
2) Brooklyn Children’s Museum has a program to honor MLK – $13 a ticket – Register here
3) Brooklyn Academy of Music tribute to Martin Luther King Jr. begins at 10:30 am. Info and watching online here. Children’s program – info here
4) For Families with children with special needs, Kings Bay Y is having a program from 12:00 – 2:00 pm. (See here)
Service Events You Can Join on January 17th:
a) Donate canned food to the Food Pantry at 6753 – 4th Avenue in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn. They are there from 10:00 am – 12:00 pm.
If you unable to at that time, e-mail fourth_ave_pastor@yahoo.com and he will tell you other times that you can stop by this week.
b) Many service opportunities to help distribute food and clean throughout NYC (some in Brooklyn) – see here
c) Help distribute food at the Wycoff Houses – see here
d) Volunteers Needed for the East New York Cleanup – see here
e) Beautiful Brooklyn is holding three cleanups Clean Ups on MLK Day (see locations below) Register here:
