The Owl’s Head is Closing
Sadly, The Owl’s Head at 479 – 74th Street is closing.
The Owl’s Head shared this message: “It is with great sadness that we are announcing that we will be closing The Owl’s Head by the end of this month. The effects of COVID-19 made it impossible for us to continue as a wine bar and, after further review, a wine shop would just not be feasible as it would require a much greater investment and risk to obtain the tools that we would need to survive. We still have wine, beer and snacks so you can stock up before we close!
We greatly appreciate all the support that you have provided The Owl’s Head family for the past 8+ years. It was great to share not only a glass of wine but celebrate art, poetry, literature, cinema and music together. Cheers!”
The Owls Head is where the Black Lives Matter mural was painted. See here
So many people loved this place.
Good luck to the owner.
Hugs,
marlene

BLM is a marxist movement, they’re just using the black community

So they got a controversial mural painted on the building and then they close? They didn’t know they were going to close? So whoever paints it over will have trouble?

And your problem with the Black Lives Matter movement is what? What, to you, is a Marxist movement? Do you have any idea what the term means or does it just sound bad? How are they “using” the black community? As for Dehumidifier, I doubt that restrictive covenants will be included in the lease and whomever does whatever is free to do so.
How about something like oh, bummer to see the Owl’s Head closing, it was a nice wine bar.

You can tell they have never been to the Owl’s Head or else they would have said what a loss it was for the neighborhood to lose such a great place.
