Ace Hardware on 13th Ave is Closing in February
Ace Hardware also known as Costello’s (formerly Polsteins) on 13th Avenue is closing in February. : (
Next week they are starting sales to sell items. Some of their inventory will be transferred to the Staten Island Ace Hardware store.
Sad news when a hardware store can’t stay open. We don’t know what is going in that spot, but maybe someone will grab it and put another home – hardware type store, as there aren’t many like them in the area.
Hugs,
marlene

Sad! Yes they were over priced but convenient.
They had everything. You could always tell
which holiday was coming up when you passed
by the store. Very convenient I will miss them.

I can’t believe this store closed. That’s beyond disappointing. It was the most comprehensive hardware store around and great for me because I can’t drive. It was a bit of a walk for me to get there, but I always enjoyed it. Thanks for your post about it. I couldn’t figure out why I wasn’t finding it on a map of local hardware stores.
