ICE was in Sunset Park Today
ICE was on 56th Street and 5th Avenue today looking to arrest someone. No one was home so they weren’t able to arrest anyone. Story here. Journalist, Noah Goldberg from the Eagle reported there was another attempt at a home with seven people. See here. WSJ wrote that the agents were rejected by people because they didn’t have warrants. See here.
Senator Zellnor Myrie appeared to be supportive:
Ed Mullins letter to the NYPD was shared online:
This has got to be hard for those really nice cops (yes, they exist).
It’s a sad time in our country. While people should be entering the country legally (yes, everyone understands this), arresting people who have been here for ten or fifteen years and deporting them doesn’t seem to serve a purpose. Who will provide for their children? (See video)
You can believe what you want about immigrants….but when kids are involved it’s different. They didn’t shouldn’t be a part of any of this. Some people understand this better than others – See here
Hugs,
marlene
