David Marcus…I’m Glad He’s Been Wrong So Many Times
I have been following politics long enough to know the players. Today I saw journalist, David Marcus hailing Nicole Malliotakis in his latest piece.
Then I thought WAIT….David Marcus wrote about Malliotakis when she ran for Mayor:
He thought that Malliotakis running for mayor….and losing was the best thing to happen to NYC?! LOL.
In 2017, Marcus jokingly shared his mayoral poll results below, Malliotakis didn’t come anywhere near de Blasio in the election.
Actual results:
Here’s the real killer though:
Wow was David Marcus wrong.
In 2015, David Marcus wrote in the National Review that the Republican Party shouldn’t chose Dan Donovan to replace Michael Grimm . Marcus said they should choose Malliotakis BECAUSE DONOVAN WAS BAD FOR THE NATIONAL GOP. LOL! Marcus actually gave five reasons why Republicans shouldn’t chose Dan Donovan for Congressman. See here The Republicans united against Malliotakis and chose Donovan. See here
Marcus didn’t realize that the Republicans would rally for Donovan and push Malliotakis aside. Nor could he predict that Donovan would be one of Trump’s boys!
If David Marcus lives in Nicole Malliotakis’ district why is he so out of touch with her as a politician? I live in the gerry-mandered district which Malliotakis represents in Brooklyn. Malliotakis hasn’t done much as a legislator since taking office. Malliotakis hasn’t had an office in Brooklyn since December 2018 when M. Golden was ousted. Yet, Malliotakis’ website still shows the old address of 7408 Fifth Avenue. Malliotakis has done nothing to make herself available to residents (share an office, rent a desk, etc.) Does she expect residents who need help to travel over the bridge to see her?
Even if Marcus doesn’t live here, doesn’t he follow what is going on in the news? If he did, he certainly wouldn’t have released his article in the Federalist, right after Nicole Malliotakis was baffled by a journalist who asked her about the measles outbreak. See here.
I’m not sure why David Marcus is writing such favorable articles for Malliotakis. Is he a friend of Malliotakis or is there some other reason? You will notice that Marcus never discusses Malliotakis’ legislation. There’s so little, it was probably too hard for him to find it.
Hugs,
marlene
