Marc Molinaro’s Archilles Heel
The Republican Party picked a good candidate for governor. Marc Molinaro is likable and NY’ers will be able to relate to him. Early on, Molinaro shared that he was raised by a single mom who relied on food stamps. I saw this on Molinaro’s website:
Marc Molinaro platform sounds good, but either the Republican Party has set him up for failure with this running mate OR Molinaro choose poorly because he doesn’t want to be the governor. Rumors were Joe Borelli or another politician were being considered to run with Molinaro. Joe Borelli would have been a great running mate for Molinaro if the State of NY was entirely Republican.
Campaign finance shows that Killian spent $1.9 million on television and radio, as well as $205,000 on mailers. Another $800,000 was spent by a pro-charter school group for Killian (UGHHHHH). $800k by special interests. How is Marc Molinaro going to get money out of the government when special interests are behind his running mate? Have they suddenly gone away? The Lieutenant Governor of NY should be someone who supports public education and improving all public schools, not pushing a few charter schools.
It’s strange that Julie Killian with her 7.7 million dollar home in Rye, NY would be seen as relatable to NY’ers. How will she speak to residents in NYCHA housing or people in NYC who are trying to make ends meet to make their rent? Will NY’ers find Killian’s Summer home in Nantucket, MA charming? They can rent it for $20,000 a week. Molinaro and Killian had their Summer Fundraiser at the home in Nantucket on August 9th. See the charming invite below that says: “At the Killian’s 10 Mayhew Lane, Nantucket.” (Also seen here) The tickets to the reception were $250 – $44,000 (see the right of the invitation below). What about the people who have $50 or $100 donations?
Marc Molinaro says he is against corruption and Pay-to-Play Politics. Sounds good, right? Is he just against Governor Cuomo or Democrats corruption? Why would Julie Killian be hanging out with Marty “Pay-to-Play” Golden?
Hasn’t Julie Killian picked up a paper or done five minutes of research on Golden? How much pay-to-play incidents does a politician have to be involved in to be considered the King of Pay-to-Play Politics? Killian posted this on Twitter:

Molinaro supports term limits and promises he will only run two terms. Molinaro explains the NY Assembly and Senate are full of politicians who have held the position for many years. Doesn’t Molinaro realize that’s all Bay Ridge has? Molinero’s running mate is standing with Senator Golden who has been in office for 12 years and voted in favor of tax breaks for a few developers in Manhattan.
It’s unlikely that Cynthia Nixon will win the Democratic primary, but if Cynthia stays in the election on the Working Family line, that could draw votes away from Cuomo. Marc Molinaro could win the state. Imagine Molinaro and Jumaane Williams as governor and lieutenant governor? Neither Molinaro or Williams would like that, but it might make great leadership in NYS.
If someone supports Molinaro. then they wouldn’t support Senator Golden because according to Molinaro doesn’t like politicians being in office for too long and he wouldn’t support Golden’s pay-to-play politics. But then again his whole platform might be a rouse and getting rid of Cuomo was the whole objective to reform. Because it doesn’t say anything about reforming corrupt Republicans:
