Mark Treyger Lives Behind Gates
Councilman Ari Kagan announced that Treyger moved to Seagate in the comments on the Kings County Politics blog (a look on NYC Acris does show a home purchase was made). Kagan was responding to people questioning if Treyger even lives in the area he is running for a position. This is the second time Mark Treyger moved into an area so he could be on a ballot.
Seagate is a private, gated community on the tip of Coney Island in Brooklyn. It has it’s own police department staffed by peace officers and retired NYPD.
What does that say about the area Treyger represents? It tells us that the area is not safe.
Before taking office, Treyger promised he was going to work on security. (See his ad)
In 2015, Treyger blamed DeBlasio for not providing enough police to his gun infested area. In 2016, why didn’t Treyger do something about it? Where are his initiatives to get guns off the street and secure his neighborhood?
Treyger failed to use his discretionary funds to do anything to make Coney Island more safe.
While Treyger boasts that his students live in that area, he doesn’t do anything for their safety.
When there is an incident of violence, Treyger is either silent or he babbles on Facebook to sound concerned like this:
A gated community and a private police department are what Treyger needed to feel safe.
For the rest of Coney Island, TOO BAD, you are on your own!
Hugs,
marlene
