Brooklyn Navy Yard – Building 93
We went to Brooklyn Navy Yard for Professional Development while the students were off celebrating Brooklyn Queens Day. When you arrive there, you go to Building 92 and start the tour.
As we entered, I noticed this neat game for school groups to play at Brooklyn Navy Yard. It’s a fun game that we played ourselves. Interestingly, it’s about recycled products that are being used throughout the building and the Yard now.
The museum is new and modern. It has a couple of interactive exhibits for students, a nice movie and their actual exhibits were pretty interesting.
Below is the Navy Yard Hospital. I went on the tour of the grounds there, but they don’t allow you into the old buildings because they are removing asbestos.
While we were having lunch, I noticed these teens on an adjacent rooftop working with bees and collecting honey.
It was an interesting day for me and I hope everyone enjoyed Brooklyn Queens Day!
Hugs,
marlene
