Engineers, Attorneys, Appraisers Oh My!
Buying a new home in Bay Ridge is exciting and well EXCITING.
I know many people are very nervous when they are buying a home, but I am not. We’ve waited out the crazy market and it’s the buyers market we were waiting for.
So we had a licensed engineer come out and look at the house. The engineer found the house to be in good shape. He found three or four minor things. We need to buy CO2 detectors. The back door needs a new screen. The bathtub with jets needs an adjustment so it doesn’t empty and the roof hatch needs a new lock (although the house is alarmed).
I was elated and excited to talk to the engineer, attorney and the bank appraiser. It just brings us closer to moving into our dream home! I’m blogging about our steps in buying a home in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn, NY during the recession because I am sure there are other young couples who would be interested in knowing how we did it and seeing how long it takes.
Hugs,
marlene
