Staten Island MakerSpace
This week, we headed over to the Staten Island MakerSpace to learn how to do plasma cutting. It’s a quick ride from Bay Ridge as it’s only a five minute drive after the bridge.
The Makerspace is a building with two large rooms divided into several sections. In the first room, there is woodworking and metal classes. The other room has a large room for sewing classes and other art classes like screen printing t-shirts.
Here’s Lee using the plasma cutter while Scott Van Campen, the instructor looks on.
Lee’s dachshund came out pretty good.
This one is mine. I messed up his feet, his ear and and nose a bit. It was my first time using the plasma cutter and it cuts so fast.
The Staten Island Makerspace has a great setup and if you are in the mood for learning something new, it’s a great place to go. They even have cool classes for kids and Summer Camp too.
One of there small spaces had old typewriters on display.
Hugs,
marlene
