Cheerleading in Bay Ridge and the Surrounding Areas

Here are some places that have cheerleading for kids nearby:
1) Iconic Cheer Elite. Children 5 and up can cheer on this team – boys and girls. Practice is at Brooklyn Gymnastics at 1635 Bath Avenue. (See Facebook page) They have practice 1-3 times per week depending on the team (Sunday afternoon and Wednesday and Thursday evenings). The season runs from late September to mid-June. There are usually four competitions per season.

2) Good Shepherd Catholic Church has a Cheerleading
3) KingBay Y had cheerleading last year – 2022 (see here) but I haven’t been able to find anything new about this program.
4) Brooklyn Titans Cheer Team – this is a real cheer team, but it’s in East New York
Staten Island Cheer Teams
1) Evolution Cheer in Staten Island – Has tumbling classes for children from 1.5 and up. Also has a competitive cheer team.
2) Staten Island Elite Cheerleading is a large cheer group – ages 4 and up. Facebook A few parents from Bay Ridge go to Staten Island twice a week so their children can cheer on this team.
3) Staten Island Spirit All Stars team, open tumbling on Thursday evenings and special needs cheerleading team. SI Spirit is at 64B Marjorie Street. 718.966.4588.
4) St. Claire’s in Staten Island has cheerleading teams. Tryouts in April.

No Cheerleading at these places:
1 )Saint Anselm does not have cheerleading. The last time they had a a mini cheer camp was in February 2017. stanselmsyouthactivities@yahoo.com
2) Saint Ephrem – does not have cheerleading. They used to have cheer for girls in grades 4-8.
The Brooklyn Cyclones used to have a Pee Wee Cheer Team of boys and girls ages 8-12, but I haven’t seen the advertisements since 2022.
The Brooklyn Cyclones Dance Crew practices at Danceworks on 13th Avenue in Brooklyn.
For girls 17 and older the Cyclones had a Surf Squad Dance Team.
Every Summer there is Cheer Camp for one week in Bay Ridge:
1) Fontbonne Cheer with The Champions Cheerleading Camp – for children in grades 2-8 who are interested in learning how to cheer. It’s a one-week camp that they have every Summer – $225 – bring your own lunch.
