The Plan to Ruin 4th Avenue in Bay Ridge
I took 4th Avenue every morning for four years. I knew what that road felt like when it is working well. I could easily predict what time I would get to class in Downtown Brooklyn if the lights were set right and there were no accidents (99% of the time there weren’t any – it was a smooth ride).
Then Polly Trottenberg came along and messed up the streets. When Brooklynites ask me, “Who messed up 4th Avenue?” I have the answer – Polly Trottenberg – yes I know the Commissioner’s name – I shouldn’t. Yes, bikes should be on the streets, but 4th Avenue was redesigned sooooo poorly. It’s always jammed up because Trottenberg’s Plan is a mess.
Over the last year and half, they keep claiming they made changes and fixed the problem – they didn’t. I tried it again two months ago and it was bumper to bumper all the way down!
Now people want to continue that mess down in Bay Ridge. Don’t do it Bay Ridge!
