Harp Bar – Complaints About Backyard Noise at CB 10 Meeting Tonight

At the Bay Ridge Community Board 10 Meeting a resident got up to speak about the Harp Bar.

The noise from the bar is disturbing families. Now when you choose to live over a bar, you realize there is going to be noise. But the residents probably didn’t realize that all this backyard action was happening there before they rented the place.

I looked online to see what the resident meant about the  building and the pictures don’t seem to show that, but this video does (warning – lower your volume)!   OMG!!  SERIOUSLY HARP BAR! Have some respect for your neighbors…..families live there.  I love some good Irish bagpipes as much as the next Irish woman,  but that is way too much! Can you imagine how bands sound on the weekend?

The resident describe the property as being like an amphitheater and it had two televisions which were on all night. One television is in the picture above. The other television can be seen in that video link above – it’s on the back wall.

The residents said this is a beer garden. I didn’t understand what he meant by ampitheater until I saw the video above.

Harp Bar is the next building with the red X

The Bay Ridge resident who owns property on that block said 60 people were screaming at the tv in the early morning. He also mentioned that there is singing and guitar playing at 2:00, 3:00 and 4:00 am in the morning.  Have Mercy Harp Bar!

Peppino’s roof is the black one with the strange pattern. I thought it was a roof garden at first.

This property is in Assemblywoman Nicole Malliotakis’ zone, but since she lives in Staten Island. Malliotakis had a representative present at the meeting, but he didn’t speak up and say he was going to help the resident. I feel terrible for these residents!

The 68th Precinct is aware of this problem and told the resident to bring it to Community Board 10.  There has to be something that can be done for those residents.  See more bar problems at Lonestar
