Fire at 244 – 73rd Street – Bay Ridge
There was a fire in the first floor apartment of 244 – 73rd Street – Bay Ridge around 7 am this morning, August 15th. Neighbors said one person was screaming for help as they were trapped on the second floor of the six unit building. The news also said someone was trapped on the third floor. Neighbors noted the amount of smoke coming from the top of the building.

Eight people were hurt in the fire including five firefighters. Most of the injuries were smoke inhalation.

Thank God for the FDNY and getting everyone out. That’s what is important. The FDNY really covered the fire with trucks: 8 Engines, 6 Ladders, 4 special units, 6 Battalion Cars, and 5 ambulances.
