Dr. Richard Funaro – Recommendation – Bay Ridge Doctor

I was chatting with a friend tonight about men and doctors. And I realized that maybe I should put this in my blog because there are a lot of men out there who don’t go to the doctor because they don’t have a doctor or because they have gone without a doctor for many years and now are afraid to go to the doctor.

Lee hadn’t gone to a doctor in many years. When he went to the hospital in the Fall, they recommended that he see an internal medicine doctor and referred him to a doctor who had seen him in the hospital. Lee told me that he didn’t like that doctor because she was very bossy and he didn’t want to go to her office.

I looked online for other internal medicine doctors and I found Dr. Richard Funaro. I taught Dr. Funaro’s children and they were all kind and good-spirited kids, I asked Lee to go to him.  Lee went and loved Dr. Funaro. He said that Dr. Funaro was laid back and easy to talk to; he wasn’t demanding and he just really liked him. Lee kept appointments with Dr. Funaro and even went to an eye doctor due to Dr. Funaro’s recommendation. I feel very relaxed because I know Lee is under Dr. Funaro’s care (he had high blood pressure and diabetes which are both in check now because of Dr. Funaro).

2016 Update: Dr. Funaro saved Lee’s life. Lee’s stomach was hard in the morning. He told Dr. Funaro about this change and Dr. Funaro took tests. The results of the test made Dr. Funaro send Lee to a specialist. The specialist found a small cancerous growth in Lee’s stomach (a very small, slow growing growth).  Lee had part of his stomach removed at Sloan Kettering Hospital and fully recovered easily. If it wasn’t for Dr. Funaro’s expertise, the cancer would not have been caught so easily.  This is the type of doctor people need.

Dr. Funaro isn’t pushy, but he is professional and knows what tests people needs. He easily refers patients to other doctors he trusts and I am glad he is Lee’s doctor.

If you haven’t been to a doctor in awhile (or you are woman and you are looking for a doctor for your husband or father) in Bay Ridge or Dyker Heights, I recommend Dr. Funaro. He’s located at 450 Bay Ridge Pkwy, Brooklyn (718) 836-6330 Here’s Dr. Funaro’s picture      See someone else’s review of Dr. Funaro here

Hugs,
marlene
