Yes, Embers Restaurant closed.
Several people asked about Embers Steakhouse on 3rd Avenue and 96th Street because they didn’t see the restaurant re-open or set up outdoor seating area.
Yes, the restaurant is closed. They tried to revive the place with a different menu and specials. Then Covid hit and there were a lot of requirements on restaurants.
After it closed, it served as the headquarters for Republican candidate, Vito Bruno, who ran against Gounardes for for NYS Senate for Bay Ridge, Dyker Heights and Marine Park. After the election, the place has been empty.
The first sign that the restaurant was gone was that Embers website disappeared and no one answered the phone.
The two buildings have been for sale since 2019. Vinnie’s Butcher Shop closed after Pete died.
The listing for Embers changed a bit – 1st floor empty – delivered vacant.
The restaurant owner has not shared any information.
Vinnie’s had a stop work order on the door.

I was just by there today, there is a big for sale sign in the window of Embers, in addition to that in the window of Vinnie’s. Bummer.

This is so terrible. What can we do to help? I live in Bay Ridge on Shore Road and we I take my weekend strolls down 3rd it’s just getting worse and worse.
